Hello :) how was your day today? Good? Good! My days have been a little bit lazy and a little bit unproductive (
I must say, of all the photography, food photography is my favorite. I mean, think about it: Food + Photography = Nirvana. Yes, I said it! With that being said, I have really stepped up on my photography AND editing skills. The vibrance of the photo gets me every time.
This is a lovely order from a lovely place called SmashBurger. When I say their food is good, you'd best believe me! Please don't take my word for it though. If you've never heard of them, just consider that they are fairly new - they opened in year 2007. They're burgers actually taste like a real (yes, real) burger, unlike SOME places (
Do you guys have a favorite fast-food place or restaurant? Please do recommend!
I usually see good-looking photos like this on various blogs, pinterest, tumblr, weheartit, etc.. But to actually have done it myself? Well, let's just say I'm bragging to my old self, the time when I was a noob on photography AND photo edits. What do you guys think? You know, I was thinking of making a post dedicated to camera recommendations and best tools regarding on how to edit your photos (not that I'm a pro and all).

This is a post about what techniques and routines I use/do and how I do it; this is not THE actual hair regimen.
I get in the shower and wet my hair all over and keep it under the water for a good two minutes (I don't wring my hair out) . After doing so, I grab one of my shampoos and pour a nicely-sized amount of it and rub it through my hair and rub to the point of lather. I scrub with the help of my long nails and rinse out. I repeat this depending on how much build up I have in my hair. On average, though, I do two rounds. Oiling my hair - After I have finished with the shampooing, I squeeze out as much excess water as I can (so the next products can penetrate my hair more). I then part my hair into one-inch sections (the best that I can lol) and oil down my scalp with mahabhringraj oil from an applicator bottle. After doing so, I do a scalp massage for two minutes. Conditioner & Deep Treatments ALL OF MY TREATMENTS WILL HAVE MUSTARD POWDER ADDED - I first part my hair into four sections and then pour out a nice-sized amount and rub it through my parted hair. Making sure my hair is fully penetrated, I finger comb and massage my hair until I feel that it is at its' best. I then sit under my hooded dryer for thirty minutes. After thirty minutes, I wash out the treatment and squeeze out excess water. After I am completely done with washing my hair, I get a towel and pat it all over my hair (also to keep from dripping). I then walk around to let it air dry for a bit - By the time my hair is 50% dry, I go on and add my leave-ins to my hair and detangle with a wide-toothed comb. After that is done, I wrap my hair and tie it in a silk scarf and I finally let my hair completely air dry from then on. Nightly Routine Night time is when I decide to moisturize and seal my hair. I take my hair down from my scarf and part it into four sections. I get out my moisturizer and pour out a nice-sized amount of it and go through all of my hair with it. I finger comb to make sure all of my strands have the product on it. After that, I get out a random oil of my liking (I have so many) and go down my scalp (which is parted like a cross road at this point). I then massage it in and then start to oil each of the four sections of my hair. I then finger comb to make sure the oil hair went through all of my strands. Once I am done, I wrap my hair back up and tie it with a silk scarf. Then goodnight :) How I do the Green House Effect Whether my hair is wet or dry, I part my hair into four sections and lightly oil my hair with either an ayurvedic oil or olive oil. I then get a saran wrap and wrap my hair tightly (but safe). Sometimes I leave it in overnight, sometimes, I may not. How I do the Inversion Method I choose to do the inversion method at night* I use mahabhringraj oil, dabur alma oil, and/or olive oil for this. Either way, I will add a few drops of cayenne pepper extract to my oil and apply directly to my scalp. Before I do, though, I add the oil mix of choice into an applicator bottle and have it heated by boiling some water and adding the soon-to-be hot water into a stable cup/bowl. I let the oil bottle sit in the cup/bowl of hot water and wait for it to get warm. After I have the hot oil ready, I part my hair into one-inch sections at a time and go though my hair. After I have finished, I massage my scalp for a good two minutes and then I go to sit on my couch (set my timer to 5 minutes first), slowly bend over (as if I'm about to polish my toe nails), and sit there until the timer goes off. After the time is up, I slowly rise back up and then do my nightly routine and then tie my hair up. After all of that, I finally go to shleep :3 Manual things I do without the use of hair products Scalp Massage, drink water, vitamins, tea (here and there), and patience. Incorporate: Monistat, Bamboo, Inversion, Green House Effect 1st week following weekend, protein treatment Labels: basics, hair, hair care, hair journey, hair regimen, regimen posted on @ 3:48 PM // 0 comment(s) | ADD COMMENT
A Hair Journey is a consistent task one follows in order to maintain healthy hair and in majority cases, retain length. Whilst there are many components to a HJ, they do vary on the individual's need, preference, and overall goals.Curious on where to start? Well here, I have created my personal top 10 steps you should take before officially being on a healthy hair journey: 1. Understand why you want to start a HJ - Is your hair brittle, dry, too thin, dandruff, etc.? Hair issues such as the ones stated are some relevant reasons as to why one wants to start a HJ in the first place. Having taking good care of your hair, you may even find that you are retain length too! 2. Understand when you want to start a HJ - Schedule is important when starting a HJ because it helps balance out the necessary steps when caring for your hair, not to mention that if you don't you may easily get side-tracked with your top priorities, such as work and school. If you have a hectic schedule, your HJ is the minority. Consider simplifying your hair regimen if your schedule is heavy too. If you have little to no schedule, then you can (if you wish) consider your HJ a priority. 3. Know your hair texture - What do you do when you are interested in something you know little to nothing about? Research! It's always good to understand you mental and physical self and what works best for you, your organs, and your overall body and its' components; and in this case, the hair. I personally suggest looking over what hair type you are first because how can you know what products work best for you and your hair if you don't know which products benefit which hair types? I say this because there are some products out there that are potent with fine hair textures, rather than coarse-textured hair. 4. Understand the moisture-protein balance - This is maybe the ultimate reason as to why your hair isn't retaining the length it should in the first place (besides hair conditions). It's all about moisture-protein balance. Too much moisture among the hair will cause it to be more vulnerable and weak. Same with too much protein. The difference? Too much protein: the hair is very brittle, dry, easily breaks. Too much moisture: somewhat moist and elastic, but easily breaks. Solution? The strand test. You can do this whether the hair is dry or wet. Take (pull out) a nice strand of hair and just with your thumb and index finger, stretch each end SLIGHTLY (not too slow though). If it easily breaks, you need more moisture. This is because there is deficient elasticity within your hair. If it stretches too far,you need more protein. This is because there's too much of a rubber band trend going on with your hair. If the hair slightly stretches but goes back to it's length, it's in good conditions. ***more info on protein-moisture balance will be updated soon*** 5. Research ingredients and hair products - Why would you put something in your hair you know nothing about? To get an understanding on what you should research first (this also depends on the individual), try oils; a good Google search would be something like "good hair oils" or "natural hair oils" (also looks for a specialty oil, such as something you may need to help with your hair problem). After doing so, research hair products that contains these ingredients. 6. Research techniques that can help build/improve your hair regimen - I feel as though the techniques one incorporates into their regimen is the skeletal part. Here are the most common of techniques. Don't add too much where you would loose track of witch treatment/method to do next. I advise to have a minimum of one treatment, and a maximum of three. 7. Do a test-run before adding a technique to your regimen - Now this part is optional. I add in this help because I feel like you shouldn't just dive into something that you're new of, adding it to your regimen, and once you do it you will be unsatisfied with the outcome. It's all about baby steps with a Hair Journey too. Try a deep conditioning treatment for once. Do you like it? No? Okay, cross that idea out. Try the Hot Oil treatment. Like it? Yes? Okay, add it to your regimen! 8. Start your regimen - When it comes to having a Hair Journey, you should consider developing a hair regimen. A hair regimen is a list chart or a certain pattern you follow when taking care of the hair. Although a regimen can be structured any way an individual desires, it is important to have these key components9. Set goals - 10. Network with others, share your story - Although this is optional, you never know what/who you can learn from in the near future! Plus, it's nice to have friends along any journey. Check out hair forums, blogs, and YouTube channels to start. ***recommendations will be posted soon*** Keep in mind:

When it comes down to skincare, we can never get too much of it. Whether you're old or young, male or female, wrinkly or with a baby face, beauty products can help you with something. In skincare, one of the main things in this criteria would be a clear face. We can wash, tone, add serums, moisturizers, etc. But what about exfoliating?
